What we are asking the Queensland Government to do

Fair regional travel support

Regional Queenslanders are paying an average of $118 a night out of their own pocket to cover accommodation above the current subsidy. This is more than $3,000 over a month of treatment. Call on the Queensland Government to strengthen and modernise the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme:

  • Increase the accommodation subsidy to $130 per night, covering at least 70% of typical accommodation costs.
  • Introduce annual indexation for travel and accommodation subsidies.

Deliver the Queensland Comprehensive Cancer Centre

  • Commit to a clear rollout of regional cancer services, bringing treatment and support closer to home for rural and regional Queenslanders.

Make hospital parking genuinely affordable

  • Make hospital parking affordable and consistent for cancer patients, regardless of where they receive treatment.
