What we are asking the South Australia Government to do

Fair regional travel support

South Australia currently leads the nation on accommodation assistance, with PATS covering approximately 70% of typical accommodation costs for regional patients travelling to Adelaide. Call on the South Australian Government to ensure support continues to keep pace with the cost of accessing care:

  • Commit to annual indexation of accommodation subsidies.
  • Increase the private vehicle subsidy to 45 cents per kilometre.
  • Introduce annual indexation for all subsidies so support remains fair over time.

Cancer care closer to home

  • Allocate dedicated funding to expand regional clinical and supportive cancer care infrastructure.

Affordable hospital parking for cancer patients

  • Introduce a statewide hospital parking concession scheme for cancer patients.
